Gilbert High School has been recognized as an exceptional high school by the Iowa Department of Education.

    Members of the Gilbert High School community share a commitment to create a respectful, caring atmosphere which allows all involved to learn and grow while maintaining high integrity. The daily actions of all members will fulfill the following statements to create a culture of encouragement and pride.

    Gilbert High School is committed to creating an enriching educational environment that promotes student achievement and success by addressing individual student needs, integrating technology, and promoting safety throughout the school.  GHS is a comprehensive high school teaching over 440 students in grades 9-12.  Because of the strong academic, elective. and extracurricular programs which serve students' needs and interests, many of the GHS current students and graduates are recognized each year for their academic and extra curricular achievement.  There is a strong sense of tradition and pride in GHS by the alumni and community members. Gilbert scores on the Iowa Assessments are the highest in the state among 339 school districts in the percentage of students proficient on the Math, Reading and Science tests.

    Recently, Gilbert High School has had many accomplishments in academics, fine arts, and athletics.

    • The class of 2015 attained:
      • Total number of college credits earned: 1242
      • Average number of college credits per student: 11.6
      • Percent of students earning college credit: 87%
      • Percent of students earning a 30 or higher on the ACT: 18%
      • Average composite on the ACT: 24.9
