It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Gilbert Community School District! It’s an exciting time be a part of Gilbert schools as we “foster a passion for learning and empower each student to become a productive citizen in today's global society.” Our district has an enrollment of over 1300 students and continues to grow. Plans are well under way to have a new high school open for students in the fall of 2013. Renovations to existing buildings are also taking place. With this new building, our current building grade levels will change to preschool–grade 2, grades 3-5, and grades 6-8 with the new high school housing 9-12th grade students.
Our teachers and support staff are a remarkable group of individuals committed to providing a quality education to our children in an effort to help them reach their fullest potential and to prepare them for their future endeavors. We have a strong academic program, and we challenge all students with a curriculum that fosters critical thinking and learning experiences that encourage students to become life-long learners. Students have many opportunities to engage in a myriad of athletic and fine arts activities.
The parent support provided to students and teachers is tremendous. Parents have the opportunity to be part of PTO, Athletic Boosters, Fine Arts Boosters, and the Foundation to help support the learning and activities for our students. Parents are seen regularly in classrooms and at events volunteering their time and expertise.
There are many wonderful things happening at Gilbert CSD and I welcome you to the district. We have wonderful students, supportive parents, and fantastic teachers and support staff dedicated to doing what is best for the students of this district. We also have a very dedicated school board who shares the vision of fostering a passion for learning and enriching students’ lives.
